DNA_DiagnosticAs those of you who were able to listen to the February 10th, 2010 BIGFOOT LIVE RADIO SHOW got to hear, it is difficult at best to get a professional and unbias DNA report done on anything related to "Bigfoot".
It seems that the vast majority of professional people in the field of DNA are very hesitent to get involved with the sometimes contriversial and politically unpopular subject of anything "Bigfoot"!
As any of you who have submitted items for DNA testing have probably already learned. After paying for the work to test your samples, the results are always the same... either, "no viable dna found...", "nothing on file...", "contaminated human...", or something very similar!
Tom Biscardi, has been working very hard to find a DNA house with the integratiy and courage to share the results they find in an open and honest format. He has found a professional with the courage to step out of the "comfort zone" and simply tell it like it is!
This Dr., may not believe that "Bigfoot" exists, but she believes there is a possiblity that it does, and the only way to find out is to openly and honestly share the results she finds from her testing, just as she finds it. That means no spin and no personal "filtering of the information". If she finds that the DNA is extremely similar to human DNA, she will say that it is similar, but not quite the same.
This is a refreshing change from the norm. If you have a bio sample that you are confident may be from a "bigfoot" type creature, and you want to have it tested fairly and openly, please contact us here at SFBI. Send us an email We will help you to pass it on to Dr. Melba Ketchum, the owner of DNA Diagonostic in Texas.
Dr. Melba S. Ketchum grew up in Texas City, Texas. She is a Moody Scholar and attended Texas A&M University where she received her doctorate in Veterinary Medicine after five years at the university. She had a mixed veterinary practice until she founded DNA Diagnostics. Dr. Ketchum is the president and founder of DNA Diagnostics, Inc. d/b/a Shelterwood Laboratories. Established in 1985, DNA Diagnostics has become a leader in all types of DNA testing including: human and animal forensics, human and animal paternity and parentage testing, disease diagnostics, trait tests, animal and human identity testing, species identification and sex determination. Most common species of animals are tested at DNA Diagnostics. Dr. Ketchum has also established a research program ranging from gene mapping to developing the VeriSNP?Create™, (patent pending), platform for universal genetic evaluation in multiple species of animals. Other research includes genetics of disease, population genetics and other genetically important traits such as coat color in animals. Dr. Ketchum is a past three-term Chairperson of the International Society for Animal Genetics Equine Genetics Standing Committee. She has also been Dog Map Chairperson and a Committee member on the Dog and Cat Parentage Committee. She is currently the Treasurer for AFDAA, The Association of DNA Analysts and Administrators.
