Followup Bigfoot Expedition To Portsmouth OhioIn late April of 2006 Tom Biscardi took the Searching for Bigfoot Inc., team back to Portsmouth Ohio to follow up on some of the sightings we had heard about on our first trip in this past winter. We also wanted to follow up on some of the vocalization sounds we heard while here then. Unfortunately, Dallas was called away due to a family emergency while we were there this time. He left us a satchel of pictures to be analyzed and studied and put us in the hands of his good friend and partner Wayne Burton. One of our first planned activities was to get a background photo of an area known as the “swamp”. We were not able to get to this area in winter and wanted to try again in spring. Dallas had sent us a picture taken from this area that appeared to have a creature in it. We wanted to take the same picture and see is what we saw in the first one still showed up in the second one. This seemed like it would be an easy task, but we soon found out it was more difficult to get back into the swamp than we first thought. As you may already know, our normal transportation is a long bed F250 4X4 Ford truck. The Ford has served us well on our trips because it has room for the whole team to ride in relative comfort, room for all of our gear in the back, gets pretty good mileage, (as much as 17 mpg of diesel fuel), has proven reliability, and has excellent off road capability. This time we pushed it to the max. The road we had to travel would have been traversed easier with a short wheel based 4x4 such as a Jeep or Toyota. We did have trouble with our long extended cab Ford. We scraped along over boulders and mounds, but managed to make it back about a mile before we came to the swampy areas. The rough dirt road we had to travel had occasional puddles that were from 3 inches deep to about 12 inches deep. We went right through them with hardly a second thought. After all, the hood of this truck is about four feet from the road. However, one of the puddles we came to, looked like all the others, but clearly had a surprise for us. As we entered, the front end of the truck suddenly dropped down and we began pushing water over the hood! We were already committed and could not stop, so we muscled our way through. Fortunately, the big Ford never missed a stroke and we climbed safely out the other side. We traveled on about another ½ mile or so until we knew we could go no farther and still be able to turn around and get out. We parked the truck and hiked in the last ¼ mile or so.
We continued back into the swamp area and found the spot where the original photo was taken. We took a couple more photos in this same area to see how much the area had changed and if there was any indication of something in that area that could be mistaken for a creature. Here are the original photo and some of the new photos we took. You can look at them and see for yourself.
