Searching For Bigfoot Goes To Phillips Wisconsin

The Searching for Bigfoot team heard about a lot of activity in Phillips Wisconsin so we packed up our gear into the Bigfoot Ford and headed east. We had heard that another “research” team had gone out that way and were taking people into the woods to look for a creature. They were charging people by the carload to get an opportunity to camp out and look for a “bigfoot”!

We arrived in Phillips Wisconsin about 3 am on Thursday the 13 of July 2006. The area was very rural and seemed like a good place to search for our elusive friend. We found a motel and slept for a few hours before beginning our work. We began by meeting our host Don Young. Don is a professional “Outdoors Specialist and Guide”. He has published books such as the “Beginners Guide to Whitetail Deer Hunting” through his business, RAZORS EDGE PRO. LURES & GUIDE SERVICE. Donald B. Young Jr. (Don Young) lives in a rural section of Phillips Wisconsin and claims to have seen a creature near his home on several occasions. Don is willing to take individual out on walking tours to the areas where he claims to have seen the creature in the past and to areas where he believes the chances are greatest for finding our friend. Don agreed to take us out to view the areas he felt were most promising and we began checking the areas right behind his home first.

This is the dirt road just behind Don’s Cabin. Don claims to have seen a creature crossing this road at the base of the hill in the back of this picture.

We walked the dirt road just behind Don’s cabin and found there was plenty of food, in the form of berries and turtle eggs, along the road. There is ample cover and plenty of water. There is a ditch just behind the grass on the sides of the road. Beyond this ditch is a slowly flowing bog that reaches over six feet deep in several places. Beyond the bog, is a heavy tree cover. It is not beyond possibility to think that a there could be a creature passing through this area. However, we did not find any signs to indicate that there may have been a creature here in the recent past.

Later that evening, we decided to out to the areas where the other “bigfoot researchers” had taken their paying costumers to find a creature. We traveled a short distance away down some dirt roads to a deeper forest. Again, we did not find any signs to indicate that here had been a creature in the area in the recent past. The area was thick woods and had most of the things that a creature would need for a short stay, but if there had been a creature there, it was no longer to be found. As a matter of fact, if there had been a creature there, our investigation would suggest it had already left the area prior to the other “bigfoot researchers” arrival just a about a week earlier.

Even though we though it would probably be fruitless, we went ahead and tried some of our normal attraction techniques. We did some calls, attempted some “tree knocking”, and set up some infrared trip cameras and baited them with strong smelling food items. We wanted to believe that the group that came to the area before us had done their homework, and that the area still might hold a secret for us to find. Unfortunately, there were no replies to the calls or “tree knocking”, and the next morning showed nothing on the cameras. In fact, even the bait was left totally untouched.

This only convinced us more, that the area may have been visited by a migrating animal in the past, but if so, that animal was long gone. There were no signs found that might indicate that there had been an animal in this area within the last month, much less within the past week.

It is my opinion that the “researchers” who proceeded us may have had good intentions, but they were a might over zealous. We could not find any evidence to suggest that they had any chance of sighting or finding our elusive friend. However, it is just another example of why our team, Searching for Bigfoot Inc., needs to stay on the road and do what we do best. Why we must go on…. Searching for Bigfoot!
