Steve Dismore and his friend Randy R.Somewhere in Kentucky
Over the past few weeks I had been telling Steve about a place I was familiar with that I felt would be an ideal Sasquatch habitat. The more I told him about it the more he wanted to hear. ![]() One of the prints we found We would lose the trail and pick it back up as anyone who has ever tracked can tell you it's not just locate a track and follow it. If only it was that easy. We followed it down to a creek at which time we lost it and wasn't able to pick it back up. We sat down on some rocks and talked about what we would do next and we both decided that we would hike back to my vehicle and drop off a few things that were proving to be a nuisance, namely camera cases, binocular cases, gloves, sock caps, etc. We see a way we think would be easier for us to walk back up the hill so we begin going back up in the general direction of the vehicle. Ten to fifteen minutes has passed and we are still looking for prints, signs, etc. when a rock lands twenty feet from me to my right! I'm not one for random flights of fancy but when a five pound rock lands nearby you take notice. Steve is about fifty feet to my left and comes running over. We both start back up the hill but are staying in close proximity to each other now. ![]() Steve trys out some of the rock shelters they find The hike back to the vehicle from this point was uneventful but neither of us talked much. I think our main concern was seeing ourselves out of these woods. We made it back and discussed what to do next. I said it was obvious this animal did not want to hurt us because if it wanted to it could have hit him with a much larger rock and that we still had not went to the spot I initially wanted to visit. So we drop off our excess gear and decide to tempt fate for a second time. Our hike was uneventful till we got about three miles in at which time we found a small arch and a broken tree. We took photos and continued on. The further we went the more broken limbs and arches we found. All of this was in almost a perfect line. For lack of a better term it seemed like a Bigfoot landing strip. ![]() The arches and tree breaks we found The Table formation We went between these large rocks and it opened up somewhat like a large bowl with 20 to 30 foot cliffs all around. We sat down here and rested for a while and talked. After a few moments I noticed that there were only two ways into this area. The way we came in and a smaller passage a few hundred feet from us. I got an uneasy feeling because I realized this was an ideal place for an ambush and not the type of place I would want to be caught at when night fell so we decided we would leave back the way we came. When we started back up along the creek I noticed a rock almost perfectly squared roughly 12 inches X 12 inches on top of the large table like stone that was not there fifteen minutes before? There was also a large round stone on the ground by this that was not there! We think they may have been stacked. The hike out of the woods was uneventful with the exception of some loud huffs of air about every five minutes coming from our left as we returned. These sounded similar to a bull. Looking back on the situation I feel we were being stalked and very close to being killed. This story is accurate and not embellished in any way. I give this to you freely. Sincerely Randy R.
