Texas_March08

After driving 36 hours, straight through from California, we arrived in Texas early in the morning on Tuesday, March 26, 2008. We met with our hosts, Lance Baily and his wife and waited for more of the people who were to join us on this expedition. Lance and his wife, shared a plan they came up with to maximize our chances of photographing or possibly capturing a creature that appears near their home.

'''Here is Lance Baily meeting with David Claerr .-.-.-.-.-.-. Another guest and Lance's lovely wife.'''

Lance and his wife shared that almost every day, around 4pm, his wife would go jogging down towards the lake. Occasionally, she felt as if she was being followed or shadowed by something in the bushes near by, running along side of her. After sharing this experience with her neighbors, she found out that other woman in the neighborhood who went jogging in the afternoon, were experiencing the same thing! She said she never felt threatened by what ever it was, nor did her neighbors. This whole experience became part of a normal routine. Lance's idea was to set up cameras and observers in the area on both sides of the path that these ladies used for jogging, later in the day. This way, when the ladies followed their daily routine, we would be in position to photograph what ever it was that was watching the ladies.
The Searching for Bigfoot team agreed that this plan had merit, but we modified it slightly so we could add a bit of security. We asked that this time the jogger not go alone, but pair up with another woman. We also wanted her to take her dog along, (the dog would sometimes follow her anyway..). We also positioned people on all sides of the pathway so that the ladies were never out of site of our team. The security team placed along side of the jogging trail, would close in as the ladies passed, forming a military style pincher maneuver flushing anything there towards the lake and our cameras and keeping close to the joggers. This plan allowed the ladies to do their normal run, but also move people alongside and behind them so that we could flush anything that followed them out through an opening we left that was lined with our cameras. In this way, we might photograph anything that flushed out. In one way, our plan was extremely successful. We executed flawlessly and did in fact flush out all the animals in the area, right in front of the cameras. Unfortunately, what we flushed out was a couple of deer, a wild boar, and more small animals. It would appear that on this day, our elusive friend was not in the area.

'''Tom Biscardi, TJ, and John Durst'''

Also along on this trip, a friend we had met while out on a previous expedition, John Durst, was invited to join us on this trip to see what we do. He had never been out with us before and was very curious about what we did. He stayed with us a day before he had to head on back home. He went on back to the motel where he was staying and packed his bags. However, before he checked out, he started a casual conversation with a maintenance man at there at the motel. The maintenance man told him he had been out fishing a couple of days earlier and saw a group of five creatures in a pool near where he was fishing. John was already packed to start his trip back home, but thought he should come back and tell Tom about what he had heard. None of us was confident that we knew where the area that John told us about was. Fortunately, while he was there, the resident Texas Game Warden came by for a routine check. While there, she was able to point out on a map where the area was. John said he thought we should check it out, but the Game Warden explained that it would probably be a waste of time because of the recent flooding in that area. John, not being the type to take "no" for an answer, made the decision to try and find the area on his own... He headed out once again... Within and hour, John returned to tell us that the road to the area was flooded by the recent rains, but he thought he could see tracks going up the banks on the far side of the creek that was blocking his progress. He was so excited that we decided to take a break from the filming we were doing and go to this unexplored area and see for ourselves. Once there, we saw the prints John could see from the road. Using our binoculars, we could see some slide areas and possibly some three toed prints near by... we assumed that these where alligator slide marks and not the tracks from our quarry. However, we thought we would see if we could find a safe place to forge the creek and look more closely on the other side. While looking for a safer place to cross, Chuck Creel, one of our guests on this trip, found the print you see in the picture in an area far from the road and up stream from where we had parked our vehicle! We took photos of the print and cast it. We found nothing else in the area and got out just as it began to rain once again.
